Phil Robertson, Homosexuality, and Muslims

If Duck Dynasty wasn’t popular enough before Phil Robertson’s interview with GQ magazine, it certainly has reached new heights now, as the media feverishly supports the minority views of an activist subset of our society.  All this over one man’s opinion concerning a few paraphrased quotes from an antiquated book…  Really?

Surprised?  Don’t be.  This is the new normal in the land of the “free” and home of the depraved.  For years, Christian rights have been slowly eroding, because we have been too timid, too complacent to act.  Now, we are effectively being told, “SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!”

Just ask Dan Cathy, President of Chick-fil-A, and Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cake Shop in Colorado…  Jack Phillip’s case is a travesty of justice.  How is it possible – in a free society – for Judge Robert Spencer to rule in favor of David Mullins and Charlie Craig, subordinating the rights and religious beliefs of an independent business owner to the complaints of a customer…over a cake?  Do consumers have rights? Sure, they have the right to purchase goods and services anywhere their business is welcomed.  Likewise, a business owner should have the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason.  No shirt, no shoes, no service…  Ring a bell?

Personally, I find this all infuriating yet fascinating.  And, to be honest, it is the media and Hollywood’s ongoing complicity that encouraged me to include Muslims in this post.  Their combined efforts on behalf of LGBT and Muslim sensitivities are like a battering ram beating against the fortress of what used to be a Christian society.

Both the LGBT and Muslim groups are equally hypersensitive and insecure, and the media and Hollywood are all too eager to promote their respective agendas, attempting to make the homosexual lifestyle mainstream in every media outlet, while depicting Muslims as the misunderstood peaceful victims of a cruel intolerant society.

If you have an opinion that contradicts what the LGBT or Muslim communities deem acceptable concerning their lifestyle or belief system, you will be the instant target of their wrath along with their media entourage.  It doesn’t matter whether your views are based on opinion or fact, you will be vilified…or worse.

If you live in a Muslim nation, tolerance is a little less forthcoming.  If you insult Allah or the prophet Mohammed, death.  If you burn the Koran, death.  If you leave the Muslim faith, death.  If you preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even though Muslims embrace Jesus as a prophet, imprisonment and possibly death.  Yup, the pinnacle of tolerance.

Isn’t it interesting that Christians can be discriminated against and even molested in their beliefs, yet they usually take it in stride?  Why is that?  It’s the strength of conviction and the power of the LIVING GOD!  We know in whom we believe, and we are not shaken by dissenting points of view.

Sure, LGBT and Muslim groups will claim their hypersensitivity is because of discrimination and violence against them, but that is not the real reason.  They will never admit it, especially to themselves, but there is a battle raging within them all the time.  It’s the same battle that rages when you call a habitual liar a liar.  Something snaps, because the truth hurts, and the reality is that we are wired with real truth written on our hearts.

“They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:15-16 ESV).

Hearing the truth is painful if you’re living a lie, even if you have so deluded yourself as to believe the lie is true.  Truth is truth, and you cannot hide from it.  The truth will expose a lie, but it will also set you free!

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.  And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13 ESV).

  1. When the left tries to portray muslims and homosexuals living in harmony(that’s what they continually try to do), or feminists in the same vein, they lose out in the reasoning department. Then, after seeing that the only place in the Middle East that provides a safe haven for all groups, Israel, their message gets muddied, every time. Of course, the media doesn’t allow that message to get out, very often
